Can a cheaper letting agent be better?

In regards to lettings, a typical high street shop front in Chichester will cost circa £40,000 per year in rent and business rates.

Only a handful of local agents have more than 50 managed properties on their books but even having 50 properties would still mean charging £800 per property just to pay for the high street facility; a cost that ultimately must be passed on to landlords and/or tenants.

Agents admit 90%+ of tenants come from online advertising (e.g. Rightmove) so I believe paying for the privilege of a high street location is an unnecessary cost in today's marketplace.

Stripping out this cost can provide savings to both landlords and tenants, without affecting our ability to provide a high level of on-going service.
