Community Focus: Chichester Flute Choir

The Chichester Flute Choir is a group of local adult flautists, playing together on flutes of different shapes and sizes. Run by local flute teacher Julie Twite, the flute group have been performing in the community around Chichester for the last few years.

Last summer the ensemble reached the final of the national Flutewise/ABRSM flute choir competition and performed live in London. Julie says of their upcoming Summer concert; “We’re very excited to be part of the Chichester Festival 2018. We are practising hard and can’t wait to perform”.

The concert - Summer Flutes - is on Sunday 15th July at 3pm at St. Paul’s Church in Chichester. The flute choir will be playing light classical music along with popular classics. This will be a concert suitable for all tastes and ages and is not to be missed! Pieces such as Pachelbel’s Canon, The Flower Duet, You’ve Got to Pick a Pocket or Two, The Dambusters and much more will be showcased.

Julie continues, “We'dalso welcome new members; we are a friendly group and enjoy having tea and cake at each weekly rehearsal (Tuesday evenings, during term time). If you’d like to join, don’t hesitate to get in touch”.

Tickets for the 'Summer Flutes' concert on 15th July at 3pm cost £5 (Under 16s are free). Tickets are available from the Chichester Box Office at the Novium or on the door.
